Would you like to know about an interesting book? In the story "Cocoa Ice," by Diana Appelbaum, we learn to visit new places. This story is about the main characters the cocoa and Maine girls. They both want to visit each other's homeland. The Santo Domingo girl makes chocolate. She puts them between banana leaves then crushes them. Lastly, she puts boiling water and adds sugar and there was the chocolate. The ice girl is in Maine. The workers get ice and trades it at Santo Domingo. You have to make holes in the ice, cut it, but don't cut through the water, put it in the ice house, then put it in the schooner. Will the ice get to Santo Domingo before it melts? The author wrote this book to show how it feels to want to go to other places and how you might imagine new places. My favorite thing about this book is how they make the chocolate because then I knew how to make it.I like this book because I liked learning how to make chocolate, and I also got to know more about Santo Domingo and Maine. I recommend this book to others because I think if you like chocolate you would like this book because it says the way they make chocolate, and you can learn places you never knew before, or learn more about the places you knew about before. You can also see if what you know is true.In conclusion, I think you should get this book and share it with others.By: Kelis
